President Cyril Ramaphosa faces challenges ahead as he embarks on his second term leading a government of national unity pact, according to Build One SA (Bosa) leader Mmusi Maimane.
In an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Maimane urged Ramaphosa to exhibit strength and decisiveness in his leadership, rather than constantly seeking consensus. He emphasized the importance of making tough decisions and executing them with resolve.
Maimane criticized the President for being indecisive and consulting excessively before taking action. He suggested that adopting a different leadership style could be beneficial, especially with the absence of usual patronage in the new government.
While Maimane’s party has not yet decided on joining the GNU, he emphasized the need for a capable government that allows the state to function effectively. He highlighted the importance of freeing the state from corruption and ensuring that key officials can perform their duties efficiently.
