At least 200 healthcare workers have been detained from Gaza during the war, making it the deadliest for doctors in recorded history.

The recent revelation of the killing of senior Palestinian doctor Iyad Rantisi in Israeli custody has sparked outrage, shedding light on Israel’s systematic assault on Gaza’s health sector. Dr. Rantisi, along with another prominent physician, Dr. Adnan Al-Bursh, was brutally tortured to death while detained by Israeli forces.

As more cases of detained healthcare workers emerge, fears grow about the unknown fate of many others. The healthcare sector in Gaza has collapsed, with hospitals shutting down due to lack of resources and continuous violent attacks.

Despite the hardships, Gaza’s healthcare workers persevere, providing essential services under dire circumstances. The plight of these brave individuals underscores the urgent need for international attention and action towards ending the crisis in Gaza.
