The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon emphasized the strong diplomatic ties between Lebanon and Cyprus after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah issued a warning to Cyprus about allowing Israel to use its air bases for potential attacks on Lebanon.
Lebanon highlighted the ongoing cooperation and communication between the two countries at the highest levels to discuss mutual interests, contrary to Nasrallah’s remarks.
The Cypriot embassy closure for a day was explained by officials as having no connection to Nasrallah’s comments but was scheduled for administrative reasons. Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides clarified that Cyprus is not involved in any military operations in the region.
Nasrallah’s warning about using Cypriot territory against Lebanon was met with a stern response, emphasizing that such actions would be considered an act of war by the resistance.
