The Armenian government has approved the signing of a grant agreement for the Black Sea Basin Interreg Next program with Romania and the European Commission, during Thursday’s Cabinet session. This agreement aims to enhance cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea basin, focusing on green and blue economy, environmental protection, research, and innovative technology.
With a total budget of 72,275,000 euros, Armenia’s participation will involve in-kind contributions, exempt from financial obligations as per the country’s law on international contracts. This program is a framework initiative, with separate funding agreements to be signed with beneficiary countries in the Black Sea region.
The grant will support various programs in Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine, and Moldova. By fostering collaboration and funding innovative projects, this program is set to drive sustainable development and economic growth in the region.
