The Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD) is advocating for the inclusion of women with disabilities in climate change programs and policies in Nigeria. They stress the importance of empowering these women to participate in profitable climate events and have a voice in national climate change legislation.

The President, Lois Auta, highlighted the impact of climate change on physically challenged women, affecting food security, health, economics, and more. She calls for inclusive initiatives that consider women’s needs in climate action plans to create a more sustainable future for all.

Emmanuel Ayogu expressed hope for women’s increased involvement in climate actions and emphasized the importance of including individuals with disabilities in climate change initiatives. He urged for accommodations like sign language interpreters to make climate advocacy more accessible.
