Russian naval vessels, including the Slava-class guided missile cruiser Varyag and the Udaloy-class frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, have docked in Tobruk, Libya after a visit to Egypt. The ships will spend three days at the Libyan naval base in a show of cooperation between the Libyan National Army (LNA) and Russia.
This visit is part of efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries, with plans for military training exchanges and cooperation in various areas. The Russian ships previously visited Egypt for joint exercises and celebrations.
Meanwhile, Mali is also looking to enhance its military capabilities with Russian assistance, as evidenced by recent high-level visits and discussions between the two countries. This partnership aims to bolster Mali’s defense forces and improve autonomy.
