The Federal Government has approved N280 billion to Julius Berger PLC for the completion of the Bodo-Bonny road project with a strict deadline of December 2024. Minister of Works, David Umahi, emphasized the importance of timely delivery to solve transportation challenges in the South-South region of Nigeria.
Umahi expressed concerns about project delays by the contractor and warned against requesting additional funds. He praised President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the project and commended NLNG’s support. Additionally, Umahi criticized RCC for delays in the East-West Road project and vowed not to entertain any Variation on Price requests.
The Minister also inspected other projects, including the dualization of East-West road and construction of box culverts, emphasizing the need for efficient project management. Umahi highlighted the government’s commitment to maintaining road infrastructure for the benefit of the people.
