Bheki Cele upset as cops go TikTok, bows out

As his term as police minister comes to an end, Bheki Cele expressed his gratitude towards South Africans and the ANC for the opportunity to serve. Cele, who has been in the position since February 2018, will be stepping down as president-elect Cyril Ramaphosa is set to announce his new cabinet soon.

Unfortunately, Cele was not among the ANC MPs who secured a spot in parliament this year. However, he remained thankful for the support he received throughout his tenure. Speaking at a police medal parade in Tshwane, Cele acknowledged the people of South Africa and the ANC for entrusting him with the role of minister.

With his term coming to a close, Cele simply expressed his gratitude by saying, “The only word I can say is thank you, South Africa.” His departure marks the end of an era, and it remains to be seen who will take over the reins as the new police minister.
