Heat Wave in Delhi Claims 50 Lives in 48 Hours
Recent reports indicate that the scorching heat wave in Delhi has led to the tragic deaths of 50 individuals from underprivileged backgrounds within the past 48 hours. While police and health officials have not officially confirmed the cause of all these deaths, the extreme temperatures have resulted in a surge of casualties and heatstroke cases across the city.
The Center for Holistic Development reported 192 homeless deaths in Delhi due to the heat wave from June 11 to 19. Hospitals in the capital have witnessed a rise in heat-related illnesses, with patients experiencing symptoms like heatstroke and heat exhaustion.
To combat these alarming trends, medical facilities like RML Hospital have set up specialized units to provide immediate cooling treatment to patients suffering from heatstroke. Experts emphasize the importance of public awareness about heat safety measures to prevent further tragedies.
The heat wave has not only impacted the physical health of individuals but has also led to an increase in lupus cases due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. With authorities investigating the sudden spike in deaths, it is crucial for the community to stay vigilant and prioritize heat safety during this challenging period.
