White House Pushes Back Against Misinformation About Biden’s Health
Amid a wave of viral videos casting doubt on President Joe Biden’s physical and mental fitness, the White House is fighting back against what they call misinformation. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called out the deceptive editing and misrepresentation of clips showing Biden’s supposed decline, labeling them as “cheapfake” videos.
Republican opponents have seized on these videos, with one showing Biden seemingly wandering off alone during a skydiving event at the G7 summit. However, the full footage reveals he was actually moving towards a parachutist. Another clip shows him standing still at a Juneteenth celebration, leading to speculation about his health.
Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates dismissed the criticism, noting that previous polls indicate voters are more concerned about Biden’s age than Trump’s. Despite the controversy, the White House is pushing back against what they see as a distracting tactic to undermine Biden’s achievements.
As the election nears, the debate over the candidates’ age and fitness continues to be a focal point in the political arena.
