Turkmenistan to host upcoming EAPO Council meeting

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 18. Turkmenistan has been chosen as the host country for the next meeting of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) in 2025. This decision came following a proposal by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, which was approved by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an online government meeting.

Additionally, Minister Meredov suggested organizing a regional forum on the legal protection of industrial designs in Ashgabat later this year and holding a regular meeting of the EAPO’s Administrative Council in 2025. He also put forward a proposal for Turkmenistan to accede to the Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention on the Protection of Industrial Designs.

President Berdimuhamedov endorsed all these proposals and tasked the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to further enhance cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EAPO.

The EAPO is an international organization responsible for managing the Eurasian patent system and issuing patents for inventions and industrial designs. This collaboration signifies Turkmenistan’s commitment to intellectual property rights and innovation.
