Jordan recently participated in a peace conference for Ukraine hosted by Switzerland, expressing gratitude for the event while reaffirming its support for international law and state sovereignty. However, the country chose not to endorse the final communique issued at the conference, despite aligning with many of its elements.
The Jordanian delegation emphasized the importance of a just and durable peace in line with UN resolutions and international law. Jordan reiterated its commitment to working with international partners to ensure the application of these principles for global justice, stability, and peace.
It was clarified that Jordan was erroneously included as an adopting country in the original conference documents, a mistake that was later corrected. Similar errors were made with Iraq and other countries present, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain, who also did not endorse the communique.
