Stakeholders of Abia State’s APC have objected to nominees for boards and councils of Nigerian tertiary institutions, citing non-APC affiliations. Led by Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, they listed only Chief Henry Ikoh and Barrister Chijioke Ikpo as acceptable nominees, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to withdraw others from the state.
The state party members expressed concerns over party loyalty and political participation, highlighting the potential negative impact of non-APC members’ appointments on the party’s standing and prospects in the state. Calling for correction of what they deemed as typographical errors, they emphasized the need for true party members to be recognized and included.
The stakeholders’ plea for withdrawal of non-APC nominees aims to uphold principles of loyalty and fairness within the party, promoting genuine participation and representation from dedicated members. Their petition emphasizes the importance of reaping where one sows and urges leaders to prioritize the party’s interests in Abia State.
