President Bola Tinubu, former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, and the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, came together on Sunday to address the economic challenges facing Nigeria. In their messages during the Eid celebration, they emphasized the need for sacrifice, unity, and care for one another.

Tinubu called for Nigerians to show more care for their neighbors and extend charity to all in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir. Buhari, in his statement, urged citizens to return to farming and buy made-in-Nigeria products to boost food production and ensure food security.

The Sultan of Sokoto advocated for concerted action to tackle security challenges and enable farmers to access their farms, while Archbishop Okoh called for unity, love, forgiveness, and faith to overcome current challenges.

The celebration was marked by high food inflation, impacting many Nigerians’ ability to afford the traditional festive items. Economists expressed concern over the rising inflation rates and urged the government to implement reforms to address the underlying economic issues.
