Recently, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan from PPP met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the party’s concerns about being left out of key decision-making processes. The PPP, although not holding cabinet positions, supports the PML-N government in the Centre and Punjab. Issues such as the federal budget and Punjab’s defamation law have caused tension between the two parties.
The meeting between the PM and governor revealed strained relations, evident in their body language. They discussed Punjab matters and exchanged Eidul Azha greetings. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz extended Eid wishes to the nation and urged remembrance of Palestine and Kashmir during the festivities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also spoke with Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussing regional peace and prosperity. They emphasized strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and tourism. Similarly, a conversation with Bahrain’s King expressed mutual respect and appreciation for historical ties.
Overall, the discussions aim to enhance cooperation and foster peace in the region, with a focus on solidarity with Palestine and Kashmir.
