The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently made a significant bust in Edo State, Nigeria, where they destroyed over 10,500 kilograms of cannabis on a large farmland. The operation, carried out in the Uhen Forest in Ovia North East Local Government Area, led to the arrest of four suspects.
Operatives of the agency also seized 18,425 kg of the psychoactive substance in another location, with support from sister security agencies. In further crackdowns, other suspects were apprehended in different states with various quantities of illicit substances.
In Abuja, two suspects were caught with a new psychotropic substance, while in Benue, a man was nabbed with a large quantity of tramadol pills. The operations extended to Anambra, Kwara, and Oyo states, where more arrests were made in connection to drug trafficking.
The NDLEA continues to prioritize the fight against drug cultivation, trafficking, and abuse, sending a clear message that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated.
