Four assailants attacked a 28-year-old man named Naveen Naik while he was transporting vegetables near Hoskote in Bengaluru. The incident occurred early on a Sunday morning, with the police suspecting a dispute over speeding and overtaking as the trigger.
Naik, a resident of Gangapura, was driving his Maruti Omni to a market in Hoskote when the assailants intercepted him near Mylapura Gate. His friend, who was in the car, managed to escape as the attackers turned violent.
The four men, driving a car resembling a Maruti Alto, engaged in a confrontation with Naik, leading to a fatal outcome. The police have launched a murder investigation into the incident.
Authorities are exploring the possibility of the assailants following Naik from his home and are looking into his background for any previous altercations. Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi assured that the suspects will be apprehended soon.
