Senator Orji Uzor Kalu recently urged the re-constituted executives of OUK Movement, Abia’s largest socio-political ideological group, to ramp up efforts in achieving the group’s political objectives. The statement from Kalu’s media office highlighted his call during the inauguration of the newly reconstituted executives at his Igbere country home.
Expressing disappointment over the 2023 election results in the state, Kalu emphasized the need for the new leadership to intensify mobilization efforts at the ward and local government levels to enhance their prospects for 2027. The senator, representing Abia North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, stressed that members boosting the party’s performance in their wards would receive additional benefits.
Kalu urged unity among members and advised them to resist financial inducements while instructing the executive in Abia South and Central senatorial districts to mirror the progress of Abia North. He assured total commitment and support towards achieving the group’s goals for the overall benefit of the APC.
The State Chairman of the group, Mr. Ojisi Ogbaja, expressed gratitude to Kalu for his unwavering support, noting the influx of new members and the implementation of new strategies to enhance outcomes. The group recently decided to expand leadership at the ward level to 57 to bolster grassroots strength and increase political influence across the state.
