Mina Chaos: Moroccan Pilgrims Left Without Shelter, Sparks Anger

Mina hajj

During the Day of Tarwiyah in Mina, many Moroccan pilgrims experienced a nightmare scenario as they were left without proper accommodations, forcing them to sleep on the ground under the scorching sun due to a shortage of tents. This mishap caused outrage and confusion among the pilgrims who had paid for a comfortable stay.

A Saudi company responsible for providing housing for the pilgrims in Mina was at fault for failing to deliver the promised tents, leaving Moroccan travel agencies in a difficult position trying to find alternative solutions.

The situation was described as catastrophic by travel agency representatives, as pilgrims were left exposed to the elements, and the disarray made it challenging for agencies to manage their groups effectively.

With worries escalating about a potential health and safety crisis due to the scorching temperatures and lack of privacy for changing out of Ihram garments, both private and government-organized pilgrimages were affected as they had contracted with the same Saudi company.
