Thousands Protest in Israel Demanding Captive Exchange and Government Dismissal

Israeli media reported that 12 people were arrested at the anti-government protest in Tel Aviv, where thousands of Israelis demanded a captive exchange deal with the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza and the dismissal of the Benjamin Netanyahu-led government. Demonstrations were held in various cities including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Netanya. The group ‘We Are All Hostages’ estimated around 300,000 participants in the protests.

Protests also took place in the north, where residents criticized the government for neglecting their safety amidst ongoing cross-border attacks. The escalating tensions resulted in casualties on both sides. The Israeli offensive on Gaza since October caused widespread devastation, with over 37,000 Palestinians killed and many more unaccounted for. The ongoing conflict has led to a severe humanitarian crisis, including famine and massive displacement.
