Tinubu Appoints Ayodeji Gbeleyi as DG, Bureau of Public Enterprises

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr Ayodeji Gbeleyi as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). Gbeleyi, a financial expert and chartered accountant, is expected to bring his vast experience to strengthen the agency as a national resource center for capacity building and reform sustainability. The President also tasks Gbeleyi to promote a competitive private sector-driven economy, ensure social accountability, and deploy public resources efficiently.

Gbeleyi holds executive program certifications from prestigious institutions like the London Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. With over 30 years of post-qualification experience in various sectors, including manufacturing, banking, telecommunications, and public administration, his expertise in corporate governance and fiduciary discipline is unmatched.

As the former Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and Commissioner of Finance in Lagos State, Gbeleyi’s track record speaks for itself. The President has high expectations for Gbeleyi’s appointment, emphasizing the need for effective leadership in public and private sectors to drive economic growth and accountability.
