Premier-elect Thami Ntuli is set to reveal his cabinet selections during the seventh administration’s official opening on Tuesday.

The IFP has made a significant comeback in KwaZulu-Natal after a two-decade absence, with Thami Ntuli of the party elected as premier due to a provincial government of unity (PGU) agreement between the ANC and DA.

Under the KwaZulu-Natal coalition, known as the PGU, the ANC and IFP joined forces to secure positions, including retaining ANC speaker Nontembeko Boyce. The DA’s member, Mmabatho Tembe, also took on a significant role.

Historically opposed parties worked together, reflecting a new dynamic in the province’s government structure.
