Despite the Philippines being 10,000 miles away, Filipinos have become an integral part of the Falkland Islands community, with over 5% of the population being of Filipino origin.

To celebrate Philippines Day on June 12, Government House and Acting Governor Dave Morgan hosted a vibrant evening of festivities. The event highlighted the multicultural spirit of the Falklands, which is home to over sixty different nationalities.

The celebrations included a parade, traditional dances, folklore displays, and a taste of Filipino cuisine. The Acting Governor praised the Filipino community for their work ethic, skills, and valuable contribution to the Falklands.
