Criticism of Putin’s peace terms as Ukraine summit starts.

Italy and Germany’s leaders have rejected Vladimir Putin’s proposed ceasefire terms to end the war in Ukraine, calling it propaganda and dictatorial. At a summit in Switzerland, more than 90 countries gathered to discuss ending the conflict, with Ukraine refusing to compromise on its independence and territorial integrity.

Mr. Putin’s terms, which include Ukraine withdrawing troops from occupied regions, were dismissed as unacceptable by Ukraine and labeled offensive to common sense. Despite the absence of Russia and China at the summit, Ukraine sees it as a success, aiming to give diplomacy a chance to establish a just peace as soon as possible.

While Mr. Putin has rejected Ukraine’s terms for a peace process, Ukraine remains hopeful that a joint plan for peace talks can be presented to Russia at a future summit. The gathering serves as a crucial platform for global cooperation in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
