The Defense Intelligence Agency recently published a report highlighting the impact of Yemeni army’s maritime attacks on international trade. Titled “Yemen: Houthi Attacks Placing Pressure on International Trade,” the report emphasizes that Yemen’s Ansarullah poses a serious threat to global commerce. It notes how more than 30 shipping companies have had to alter their routes due to these attacks, with at least 43 ships being targeted in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden from November 2023 to March 2024.

Despite efforts by the US and UK to intervene, the assaults continue unabated, underscoring the failure to curb this growing menace. Moreover, the report sheds light on the ongoing support for Palestinians in Yemen, with devastating consequences in terms of human casualties and infrastructure damage in Gaza.

With over 37,200 Palestinians killed and 84,900 injured, the situation remains dire, marked by widespread destruction and restricted access to essential resources. The report serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for international action to address these complex challenges.
