‘No One Has Any Idea’ How Many Israeli Hostages Still Alive – Hamas Official

Hamas political bureau member Osama Hamdan has stated that there is uncertainty regarding the number of Israeli hostages still alive following the October 7 attack. He mentioned that the recent Israeli operation resulted in the deaths of three hostages.
Israel believes that over 70 hostages are still held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas. The Israel Defense Forces managed to rescue four hostages, including a Russian national, who were abducted during the Nova music festival and held captive since then.
In October 2023, Hamas initiated a rocket attack on Israel, causing casualties and abductions. In response, Israel launched retaliatory strikes, leading to a significant number of deaths. Approximately 120 hostages are still believed to be held by Hamas in Gaza, with a third of them presumed dead.
