U.S. Under Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma is set to visit Yerevan, Armenia from June 17-19 for the U.S.-Armenia Local Government Forum on Democracy, as well as meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties with the Armenian people.
Accompanied by state and local officials from California, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, and Pennsylvania, Deputy Secretary Verma will engage with representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations. Special Representatives Nina Khachigian and Sarah Morgenthau will also be a part of the delegation, emphasizing the State Department’s focus on subnational diplomacy and commercial affairs.
