Falklands: Sea Harrier and Lynx helicopter arrived on time for Liberation Day
Exciting news for the Falkland Islands as the Sea Harrier and Lynx helicopter, generously donated by the UK Defense Ministry, have arrived just in time for Liberation Day on Friday, June 14th. The two aircraft will be housed in the Lookout Gallery and Exhibition Hall, currently under construction at the local Falkland Islands Museum.
To transport the Sea Harrier and Lynx helicopter to Stanley from Mare Harbor, a team from the Joint Aircraft Recovery and Transportation Squadron (JARTS) partnered with Big B’s Haulage and the Falklands Islands Company. The public will have the opportunity to view the aircraft over the weekend at the plot of land designated for the LGEH.
The Museum extended their gratitude to all the individuals and organizations involved in the transportation and display of the aircraft, including the UK Ministry of Defense for their generous donation.
