Prevent Kuwait fire tragedy recurrence: Kerala CM Vijayan

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the importance of taking necessary precautions to prevent a tragedy like the recent Kuwait fire incident from happening again. He praised the swift response of the Kuwaiti government and expressed hope that they would take action against those responsible. The Loka Kerala Sabha, a global event with representatives from 103 countries, was cut short to two days due to the tragedy.

Vijayan highlighted the emotional scenes at the airport where the mortal remains of the deceased were received, stating that no compensation could ever replace the loss of a loved one. He urged both the Indian and Kuwaiti governments to provide timely financial assistance to the bereaved families and ensure that all responsible parties fulfill their obligations.

The Chief Minister also raised concerns about the denial of political clearance for state Health Minister Veena George to travel to Kuwait for relief efforts, stressing the need for coordinated efforts between the Center and the state government in such situations.

Overall, Vijayan called for swift and effective measures to support the victims’ families and prevent such incidents in the future.
