Man indicted for killing Pinal County sheriff’s son in crash

Tragedy struck in Arizona in December 2022 when a family of three lost their lives in a devastating crash. Brian Alexander Torres-Perez, 22, has been indicted on three counts of manslaughter for the incident that resulted in the deaths of Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb’s 22-year-old son, Cooper, his fiancée Caroline Patten, and their 11-month-old daughter. The crash occurred when Torres-Perez allegedly struck the family’s car while they were making a left turn at an intersection.

Cooper Lamb (right), his fiancée, Caroline (left), and their 11-month-old daughter died in a tragic crash.

The case was submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, citing factors like excessive speed and alcohol use. Torres-Perez was driving at 70 mph, over the speed limit, with alcohol and THC in his system. Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “This defendant’s reckless disregard for life wiped out an entire family.” Torres-Perez is currently in custody with a bond set at $150,000.
