Joe Biden promises no pardon for Hunter

US President Joe Biden has made a firm commitment not to pardon his son Hunter Biden, who was recently found guilty of violating federal gun laws. In a news conference during a G7 meeting in southern Italy, Biden stated, “I am satisfied that I’m not going to do anything – I said I’d abide by the jury’s decision. I will do that. And I will not pardon him.” Despite this, he expressed his pride in Hunter, highlighting his son’s journey to overcome addiction.

Hunter Biden’s legal troubles stem from his failure to disclose his addiction to crack cocaine when purchasing a revolver in 2018. While facing potential prison time and hefty fines, Hunter Biden’s defense maintains his stance that he did not consider himself an addict at the time of the purchase. This case has fueled accusations of corruption and influence peddling, which the Bidens vehemently deny.

As the sentencing date looms and with the 2024 presidential election on the horizon, the Biden family finds itself under intense scrutiny. Despite the challenges, Joe Biden stands by his son, refusing to intervene in the legal process.
