Gaza mothers fight to feed babies amid Israeli-imposed starvation

As a Palestinian mother sings a lullaby to help her hungry baby fall asleep, she is reminded of the Israeli-made starvation they are enduring in north Gaza. Noor Saleem, a 32-year-old mother, feels helpless and powerless as she struggles to provide basic necessities like food for her child.

The Israeli military’s siege has imposed a tight restriction on essential food and medical supplies for over eight months in Gaza. Despite resistance from residents and international pressure, Israel continues to use starvation as a weapon of war.

In the midst of a hunger crisis, Saleem and others in northern Gaza face malnutrition and scarcity of essential items. With hundreds of thousands of malnourished children, the situation is dire. Families like Rajaa Jendiya’s are left to fend for themselves, with some resorting to eating grass due to lack of food.

As the crisis escalates and aid routes are blocked, the fear of famine looms over Gaza. With limited access to food and increasing hardships, Saleem and others struggle to provide for their children, facing a heartbreaking reality of hunger and despair.
