Gantz accuses Netanyahu of obstructing prisoner exchange deal
Former Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of hindering a prisoner exchange deal with Palestinian Resistance in Gaza for “political reasons.” Gantz, leading the National Unity Party, resigned from the emergency government, citing Netanyahu’s actions preventing “true victory” in Israel’s onslaught against Gaza. He stated that Netanyahu’s decision to block the prisoner exchange deal was driven by personal political calculations rather than Israel’s best interests, as reported by Anadolu news agency. Gantz emphasized the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza and called for international support in resolving the conflict. He also highlighted the humanitarian crisis resulting from the Israeli aggression in Gaza, with thousands killed and wounded, and mass displacement of Palestinians, urging for swift action to address the situation.
