During an event at Eagle Square, Abuja, he slipped while inspecting a guard of honor at the 25th democracy day anniversary parade. Tinubu emphasized the significance of democracy as he addressed leaders of the National Assembly, stating that the government will meet expectations while considering affordability.

Despite the mishap, Tinubu remained resolute, attributing his fall to a show of respect for democracy. The celebration was attended by prominent figures like Professor Bolaji Akiyemi and Senator Shehu Sani, who highlighted Tinubu’s contribution to the democratic struggle. Among the distinguished guests were members of the National Assembly, including the Senate President and Chief Justice of Nigeria, as well as governors and ministers.
