No more visits to Belarus while President Lukashenko is in power

In a surprising declaration, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a session in the National Assembly that he will never visit Belarus again. This decision was influenced by the strained relations between Armenia and the CSTO, following controversial statements made by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Pashinyan criticized Lukashenko for supporting Azerbaijan during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 2020 and vowed not to engage in any discussions with the Belarusian leader within the CSTO framework. He firmly stated that neither he nor any official Armenian representatives will visit Belarus as long as Lukashenko remains in power.

Despite this stance, Pashinyan did not rule out the possibility of Armenia maintaining its CSTO membership under certain conditions, such as Belarus leaving the organization or Lukashenko issuing a formal apology acceptable to the Armenian people.
