Delhi Government’s Summer Action Plan to Combat Air Pollution

Delhi’s Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, announced that the city’s summer action plan to control air pollution will be implemented starting from June 15. The plan will primarily focus on tree plantation as a key measure to improve air quality.

A meeting attended by 30 departments discussed the details of the summer action plan, which will be in effect from June 15 to September 15. The plan includes 12 key points to address air pollution issues in the capital.

Additionally, greening agencies have been instructed to develop their own action plans to contribute to the overall effort. Rai highlighted the importance of controlling dust particles, which significantly contribute to pollution during the summer months.

As part of the plan, a joint anti-dust campaign will be conducted from June 15 to June 30, involving 580 patrolling teams to inspect construction sites for adherence to dust control measures.

In a bid to combat air pollution during summer, Delhi government unveiled an action plan in May 2023 with a specific focus on dust pollution.

Stay tuned for more updates on this crucial initiative!
