Tharoor calls for bill to safeguard work conditions of Indian migrant workers

Following the tragic Kuwait fire incident, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has urged the government to create a bill in collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian migrant workers.

A devastating fire broke out in a building in Kuwait, which housed mainly Indian foreign workers, resulting in 49 deaths and over 50 injuries.

Tharoor emphasized the need for improved conditions for migrant workers and urged the government to prioritize their security by drafting a comprehensive bill.

He stressed the importance of providing migrant workers with adequate assurances of decent living and working conditions before they leave the country.

In a previous tweet, Tharoor expressed his condolences for the victims of the tragic incident in Kuwait, highlighting the hardships faced by migrant workers.

He called for immediate action from the government to address the lack of a proper Emigration Bill for migrant worker protection.

Tharoor stressed the need for urgent action to protect migrant workers and ensure their safety and well-being, calling for a comprehensive Emigration Bill to address their concerns and provide them with the support they need.
