As Muslims gear up for Eid-el-Kabir amidst rising prices, Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Sokoto, has approved a special gift of 30,000 naira for all state workers. The announcement was made in a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa, ensuring that civil servants can celebrate the festival without financial stress.
In addition, the governor allocated 20,000 naira to pensioners and individuals receiving allowances from the state government. This payment is slated to begin on Thursday and follows the early payment of June salaries to all workers in the state, including those in local government positions.
Showing generosity, Gov. Aliyu’s gesture aims to provide financial stability to workers during the festive period. Despite being away on pilgrimage, he has urged employees to reciprocate by being dedicated and punctual. His message also includes wishes for a harmonious Eid celebration in Sokoto, Nigeria, and beyond.
