Protesters continue outside Armenia National Assembly against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and his supporters are continuing their protest action on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan, outside the National Assembly of Armenia. Police forces have been deployed near the NA building as the protest persists.

Galstanyan had called for a large gathering on Tuesday at 15:00 to voice their concerns and take action. Since June 9, they have blocked off Marshal Baghramyan Avenue, pitching tents and holding a sit-in round-the-clock.

The protests began after Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to start border delimitation at Tavush Province, sparking demonstrations led by Galstanyan. He marched to Yerevan demanding the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan and announced a transitional government with himself as the PM candidate. The movement continues to demand political change in Armenia.
