Netherlands allots 60M euros for Ukraine drone buy
The Dutch government has pledged 60 million euros to enhance Ukraine’s drone capabilities, with a focus on aerial and naval drones. Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren made the announcement, allocating 17.5 million euros for naval drones and 42.5 million euros for bilateral drone deliveries through an international coalition.

The drone coalition, consisting of nine countries including Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands, aims to strengthen Ukraine’s unmanned aerial vehicles arsenal. The Netherlands, along with Denmark, previously committed to a joint procurement of drones worth 400 million euros. Ukraine is also set to scale up domestic drone production, targeting 1 million drones by 2024.

Ollongren’s announcement came after meetings in Kyiv with Ukrainian officials, discussing defense production partnerships, technology exchanges, and Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration. Additionally, Latvia plans to invest 20 million euros in the drone coalition for Ukraine this year.
