Iraqi Prime Minister Seeks Spanish Assistance in Reconstruction Efforts
During a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at a conference in Jordan, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed his desire for ministries in Iraq to collaborate with reputable Spanish companies for reconstruction projects. The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations and increasing cooperation in various sectors.
Al-Sudani accepted an invitation to visit Spain later this year, seeing it as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the two nations. He praised Spain for its recognition of the State of Palestine, calling it a historic decision that aligns with the Palestinian people’s aspirations for independence.
Sanchez highlighted the significant growth in Spain-Iraq relations and expressed gratitude for Iraq’s trust in Spanish businesses. He emphasized Spain’s support for Palestine based on humanitarian, legitimacy, stability, and security concerns.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue working together towards mutual goals and fostering a strong partnership between Iraq and Spain.
