Exciting Developments in Balochistan: Solar Salt Project Planned in District Gwadar

The Balochistan government, in collaboration with the Balochistan Public Private Partnership Authority (BPPPA), is embarking on an innovative Solar Salt project in District Gwadar. This initiative was highlighted in the recently unveiled Pakistan Economic Survey 2023-24, which mentioned that Reconnaissance Licenses for Solar Salt have been granted to the Balochistan Mineral Resources Limited (BMRL).

Furthermore, the survey revealed negotiations with international investors for areas granted to BMEC and BMRL, focusing on Large-scale Mining. Notably, Exploration Licenses for Copper, Gold, and associated minerals have been issued to both Private and Public Sector Companies. Among these, BMRL and BMEC, government-owned entities, have received ELs for exploration.

Additionally, the province has seen progress in Lithium exploration, with an EL granted to M/S Shaanxi Atlas International Mining Private Limited. Moreover, companies like Degan Exploration, MPCL, and National Resources Limited have received ELs for Copper, Gold, and associated minerals, accelerating exploration efforts in potential districts like Chagai.

With the Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) updating feasibility studies and advances in Chromite mining, Balochistan is poised for a transformative period of growth and development in the mining sector.
