For some in the west, the issue is not just about the Gaza genocide. It is also about the future of the west itself.

Recent developments have shown a significant shift in Western capitals’ stance on Gaza. Spain has joined South Africa’s case at the UN, accusing Israel of genocide, while Dublin, Oslo, and Madrid have recognized the state of Palestine, deviating from long-standing US-led policies.

The US’ support for Israel’s actions, including supplying weapons for Gaza attacks, despite international outcry, highlights the divergence in Western approaches.

The lack of progress in US-led negotiations between Israel and Palestine, coupled with Biden’s administration’s inaction, raises questions about US policy objectives in the region.

Israel’s refusal to adhere to US demands, ongoing atrocities in Gaza, and violence in the West Bank demonstrate a complex political landscape and the implications of continued US support for Israel.

This shift in Western dynamics reflects concerns not just about Gaza but the broader implications for international order and the future direction of the West.
