In the detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo, the criminal processing of suspect N.S. is still ongoing after he shot and killed A.K. on Wilson’s Promenade in Sarajevo. The spokesperson for the MoI of CS, Mersiha Novalić, confirmed that the suspect will be handed over to the acting prosecutor once the investigation is complete.
A.K. had a criminal record with nine final verdicts for various offenses, while N.S. had no prior criminal record before the incident. The victim’s death was confirmed at 5:01 p.m. by a doctor from the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of Canton Sarajevo.
Upon being informed, the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton led the investigation. The police officers of the Department for Blood, Sexual Offenses and War Crimes arrested N.S. for suspicion of committing murder.
The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding the tragic incident.
