Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser raised concerns on Monday about 91 projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa being excluded from the federal development budget, leading to a resurgence of terrorism. He highlighted the importance of these projects in sectors like health, education, and energy, accusing the government of depriving KP of funds due to political reasons.
Qaiser, accompanied by PTI leaders, emphasized the broken promises of additional funding for KP, while addressing the electricity crisis and rising terrorism in the region. He condemned the government’s suppression of PTI members and opposition leaders, citing a recent incident involving Omar Ayub Khan’s denied entry to court.
Questioning the state of political rights in Punjab, Qaiser urged the NA Speaker to uphold the dignity and privileges of lawmakers. The PTI leaders stressed the need for accountability and fair treatment in government policies to address the challenges faced by KP.
