Hezbollah Shoots Down Israeli Drone Over Southern Lebanon
Fighters from the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah have successfully shot down an Israeli drone flying over southern Lebanon. The drone, identified as a Hermes 900, was armed with missiles intended for attacks on Lebanese regions.
The Israeli military confirmed the incident, stating that a surface-to-air missile was launched towards the UAV, causing it to be damaged and fall in Lebanese territory.
Hezbollah’s use of drones to target Israeli military positions has escalated in recent months. The group also conducted an air attack on an Israeli military post in the Golan Heights, injuring soldiers and causing a fire. The attack on the Israeli army’s 146th Division headquarters resulted in casualties and destruction of settlements.
The operation was in retaliation for Israel’s attack on Lebanese villages that resulted in casualties. The Israeli regime initiated hostilities in Gaza, prompting retaliatory strikes from Hezbollah in support of the Palestinians.
