First EU-Jordan Business Forum commences.

The first European Union-Jordan Business Forum was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation Nasser Shraideh in the absence of HRH Crown Prince Hussein. The forum aimed to foster trade and investment opportunities between Jordan and the EU, with a focus on digital and green initiatives.
Significant participation from both Jordanian and European businesspeople and entrepreneurs was seen at the event, which included discussions on overcoming challenges hindering bilateral trade and investment. Minister of Investment Khuloud Saqqaf highlighted Jordan’s resilience against external shocks and the geopolitical uncertainty in the region, showcasing positive economic indicators such as stable growth rates and low inflation.
The forum also touched upon diversifying energy resources through investments in renewable energy, where Jordan leads the Middle East and North Africa. Ambassadors of the EU to Jordan emphasized the strong relations between the two entities and the vision for economic prosperity.
Thematic dialogue sessions during the forum focused on green growth, renewable energy, digital technology, and scaling up industrial operations in key sectors like textile, pharmaceutical, and agro-processing.
