Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, dispelled rumors of joining the APC and reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, aiming for victory in the state in 2026. He warned against maligning his character and urged unity within the party.

During the 2023 elections, Fayose supported the return of power to the South and openly campaigned for APC candidate Bola Tinubu, causing a rift within the PDP. Despite showing support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Fayose emphasized the need to rescue Ekiti from the APC’s grip.

Addressing supporters in Ado Ekiti, Fayose stressed the importance of party unity, praising Oyebanji’s works while maintaining his opposition during elections. He called for PDP members to come together, advocating for peace and solidarity to secure victory in the upcoming 2026 governorship election.

Fayose’s efforts to bridge factional divides within the PDP, particularly between his supporters and those of Olujimi, reflect his determination to strengthen the party’s position for future success.
