Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala suggests Russia’s involvement in a recent attempted arson attack on Prague city buses. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the thwarted plot and charged with terrorism. Fiala stated that the attack might have been organized and funded by Russia as part of a hybrid war against Czechia.
Recent months have seen multiple sabotage and collaboration attempts in Europe. In a similar incident, the Polish government arrested nine individuals from a Russian spy ring involved in alleged sabotage plots. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk highlighted the seriousness of these acts, including arson attempts in various countries like Poland and Lithuania.
The Russian embassy in Prague has not yet responded to the allegations. This incident reflects a broader trend of Russian meddling in European countries, prompting heightened vigilance among governments in the region.
