The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, recently met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, in Berlin to discuss the current political and security situations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bećirović expressed concern over the anti-constitutional activities of Republika Srpska’s leader and highlighted the need for international cooperation to prevent separatist actions.
He also raised alarms about unauthorized interference from Serbia in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s affairs, especially noting the recent All-Serbian Assembly which he deemed as a violation of international law and European values.
Bećirović thanked Germany for its strong support in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration, acknowledging Germany as a key advocate for the country’s EU membership. Minister Baerbock reassured Germany’s backing for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU and NATO aspirations, condemning any threats to its independence.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of Germany as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s main economic partner and the significant role of the diaspora in fostering ties between the two nations.
